Supplied unframed, with no added white margin, ready for your own frame.
Framed Fine Art Print: the same cotton fine art paper in a 1.25 inch solid wood frame. A white, acid-free, 4-ply mat with a 45-degree bevel and optical-grade, shatter-resistant clear acrylic (safer to ship than glass) are included. The print is mounted to foam core for a flat presentation, with a kraft paper dust cover and installed hanging wire on the back.
Glossy Metal Print: the image is transferred by dye sublimation into polymer-coated aluminum with a glossy white base. The 1.14 mm panel has a scratch- and water-resistant surface, with a hidden inset mount that positions it about 3/4 inch off the wall. Display indoors, away from direct sunlight.

Tacoma Narrows Airport Runway Diagram Print
Tacoma Narrows works from one runway: 17/35, 5,002 feet long and 100 feet wide, asphalt. On the sheet that reads as a single dark bar running almost top to bottom, leaning a few degrees off vertical, with the end numbers set into the strip at each tip. A parallel taxiway shadows it the whole way down, joined by short connector stubs, and the apron with its hangar rows sits off to one side in a lighter tone. Nothing crosses. The whole composition is one confident line and the working clutter that grew beside it, which is why it hangs well in a narrow space where a busier field would fight the wall.
The field is county owned and public use, about 5 miles west of the central business district of Tacoma in Pierce County, south of Gig Harbor and one mile southwest of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. It covers 644 acres at an elevation of 295 feet above mean sea level, and that elevation is printed under the coordinates in the caption block. The city of Tacoma owned the airport until 2008, when Pierce County purchased it.
The history behind the drawing is unusually stubborn. It was first known as the Tacoma Industrial Airport as early as 1958, and the current name was adopted in 1982, after a Gig Harbor resident had floated the idea in a letter to the editor. Funding lagged the ambition: by 1968 there was only enough money for the north taxiway, so an aircraft that rolled long had to taxi back along the runway to reach an exit. In 1972 a published timetable showed nonstop routes to Seattle and Olympia. The parallel taxiway you see beside the strip is the settled version of that long argument, plotted from published airport information rather than sketched from memory.
