Porter County Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

Porter County Regional has two asphalt runways, and the print draws both. Runway 09/27 runs 7,001 by 150 feet straight across the sheet, and 18/36, 4,001 by 75 feet, comes down from the top edge and crosses it a little past the midpoint. The vertical strip stops just below the crossing, so the pair reads as a long horizontal line with a tall stem rising off it rather than a tidy plus sign. What makes the composition work is the imbalance. Almost all the ink sits in one heavy stroke that spans nearly the full width, with the shorter runway breaking the horizon line in the upper right of center.
