Beaufort MCAS (Merritt Field) Runway Diagram Print

Beaufort MCAS (Merritt Field) reads as one big X on the wall. The print draws two runways: 05/23 at 12,202 feet by 200 feet, and 14/32 at 8,001 feet by 200 feet, both listed with a PEM surface. They intersect a little above and left of center, with 05 anchored at the lower left, 23 running up to the upper right, 14 at the upper left and 32 dropping to the lower right. The longer strip carries the composition corner to corner, and the shorter one holds the counterweight so the shape never tips.

Under the crossing, the gray work of the field piles up: taxiway loops, ramp aprons, rows of parking stubs and a dense cluster of buildings gathered toward the bottom of the plate. A separate taxiway spur reaches off to the northeast past the 23 end, and one thin service line runs almost dead horizontal across the left side. That contrast is what makes this one hold a room. Two black bars do all the shouting, and everything else stays quiet and pale behind them, so the artwork still resolves from across the hallway.

Both runways measure 200 feet wide, which is unusually generous relative to their length, and the plot shows it: the bars stay thick right through the intersection instead of thinning into hairlines.
