Yuba County Airport Runway Diagram Print

Yuba County Airport reads on the wall as an off-center X. Runway 14/32, 6,007 by 150 feet, runs nearly the full height of the sheet as one long dark diagonal, and runway 05/23, 3,314 by 60 feet, cuts across it at a shallower angle. The crossing point sits below the middle of the field, so the composition never settles into symmetry: open space fills the upper left, while taxiways, aprons and hangar rows pack the lower right into a dense gray spine.

The field is older than its quiet county look suggests. It was built in 1941 as Alicia Airport, after the City of Marysville and the County of Yuba jointly purchased 833 acres for it. In 1942 it was leased to the Army Air Forces and designated Marysville Army Airfield, and during 1943 a replacement training unit flew A-36 Apaches, P-39 Airacobras and P-40 Warhawks from it. In 1946 the city released all its interest to Yuba County, and the airport has run as a county field and industrial park since 1949.

The airport covers 933 acres at an elevation of 64 feet, and that elevation sits with the coordinates under the MYV lettering in the lower corner. Two strips, one long and one short, are enough to carry a print: the eye follows 14/32 corner to corner, then catches on the shorter blade of 05/23.
