Beale AFB Runway Diagram Print

Beale AFB (BAB) is a one runway field, and this airport map print is built entirely around that single line. Beale was established in 1942 as Camp Beale and named for Edward Fitzgerald Beale, an explorer and frontiersman in California, becoming a United States Air Force installation in 1951. The base covers nearly 23,000 acres of rolling hills in northern California, about 10 miles east of Marysville and roughly 40 miles north of Sacramento. Since 1966 the 9th Reconnaissance Wing has been the host unit here, and in 1976 the U-2 Dragon Lady joined the SR-71 in that wing, a pairing that lasted until 1990.
