The field itself

This is Lawrence's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Lawrence Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

Lawrence Regional reads as a tall, narrow X on the wall. The two runways in the print meet well up in the upper third of the frame and then splay apart as they run down, so most of the sheet is taken up by the long open wedge between them. Runway 15/33 is the longer line, 5,701 by 100 feet of asphalt falling from upper left to lower right. Runway 01/19 is 3,901 by 75 feet of concrete, climbing from the lower left to a blunt stop at the 19 end high on the right. Field elevation is 833 feet, printed small in the corner block with the coordinates.

It is a compact field and the drawing does not pretend otherwise. The apron, hangar rows and taxiway loops sit in soft grey low in the composition, tucked inside the wedge and off to the west, which leaves the two black strips doing all the structural work. That imbalance is the reason this one hangs well: a lot of quiet paper, one hard geometric gesture, and a set of small numbers you have to walk up to read.

The airport sits about 3 miles north of central Lawrence, in Douglas County. Hung as a pair or a row, it sets up nicely against the flatter, wider fields elsewhere in the region, Topeka to the west or Olathe out toward the metro, since no two of those diagrams resolve into the same shape.

Lawrence (LWC) print, common questions

How many runways does Lawrence Regional have, and how long are they?

Two. Runway 15/33 is 5,701 by 100 feet with an asphalt surface, and runway 01/19 is 3,901 by 75 feet with a concrete surface. Both appear in the print, crossing near the top of the frame.

What is LWC?

LWC is the identifier for Lawrence Regional in Lawrence, Kansas. It is the code set in large type at the lower right of the print, with the city, state, coordinates and field elevation stacked beneath it.

Where is the airport, and how high is it?

It is about 3 miles north of central Lawrence, in Douglas County, Kansas. Field elevation is 833 feet, which is printed on the sheet as ELEV 833 FT.

How accurate is the diagram?

The runway pair is plotted from published airport information, so the lengths, widths and crossing angle follow the published runway data for the field. Fine details may be simplified or omitted: taxiway edges, small structures, markings and lighting are reduced to keep the sheet readable at wall distance. It is wall art built from a published layout, not a navigation document.

What sizes are available?

The diagram is composed to hold up across the standard print sizes, with the runway lines heavy enough to read from across a room and the corner block legible up close. The background and line treatment shift with the colorway you choose, so a bright room and a dark study can each get a version that works.

Is this a good gift for a Lawrence pilot?

It works for anyone with hours logged at the field, students who learned in the pattern there, or someone who simply grew up under the approach. Because the print is made to order, it stays specific: one airport, its own layout, no generic aviation clip art.
