The paper is acid-free and archival-grade, with a smooth matte surface and the high color gamut and black density that let a dark ground and fine linework keep their depth. Supplied unframed, with no added white margin, ready for your own frame.
Framed Fine Art Print: the same cotton fine art paper in a 1.25 inch solid wood frame. A white, acid-free, 4-ply mat with a 45-degree bevel and optical-grade, shatter-resistant clear acrylic (safer to ship than glass) are included. The print is mounted to foam core for a flat presentation, with a kraft paper dust cover and installed hanging wire on the back.
Glossy Metal Print: the image is transferred by dye sublimation into polymer-coated aluminum with a glossy white base. The 1.14 mm panel has a scratch- and water-resistant surface, with a hidden inset mount that positions it about 3/4 inch off the wall. Display indoors, away from direct sunlight.

Willow Run Airport Runway Diagram Print
Willow Run Airport works two runways, and the print is built around the long one: 05/23 at 7,543 by 150 feet, running the whole sheet as a single diagonal from southwest up to northeast. Runway 09/27, 5,001 by 100 feet, sits across the top as a short horizontal bar, and the two never touch. The 23 threshold and the 27 threshold converge toward the northeast corner and stop well short of each other, so the composition is a long stroke and a clipped one rather than a cross. Field elevation is 716 feet, magnetic variation is 6W, and a long parallel taxiway shadows the diagonal along its northwest side while a chain of blunt apron panels stacks up on the southeast flank.
The name came from a small stream that wandered through pastureland and woods until the late 1930s. Henry Ford bought the ground that became the runways and taxiways in 1931 and farmed it for most of a decade, running a program that brought inner city boys out to Willow Run Farm to plant and harvest crops and to work a maple syrup operation. In the spring of 1941 he was prevailed upon to take a contract for B-24 Liberator heavy bombers under license from Consolidated Aircraft, and he put the factory on that same farm. Albert Kahn designed the main structure, 3,500,000 square feet of floor space with an assembly line over a mile long, thought at the time to be the largest factory under one roof anywhere in the world.
The first Ford built Liberators came off the line in September 1942, and by 1944 one was rolling out every 63 minutes, around the clock. Production stopped in May 1945 with 6,972 aircraft built at Willow Run and 1,893 knock down kits sent to Consolidated at Fort Worth and to Douglas Aircraft at Tulsa, 8,865 in all. The government sold the airport to the University of Michigan in 1947 for one dollar on condition that it be run as a research facility. Passenger airlines serving Detroit had moved over from Detroit City Airport between 1946 and 1947, and Willow Run carried almost all of the region's scheduled flights until 1958, when the jet age pulled that traffic to the Romulus field newly renamed Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.
As art the layout is left to speak plainly. Runway designators, lengths and widths follow the published figures, taxiways and apron edges are reduced to flat geometry, and the built up ground is held as simple shapes over the ground tone you choose: a heavy block at the west edge, two combs of small hangars down the east side, and one large angled building below the 05 threshold. The airport covers 2,392 acres, which gives the diagonal room to run corner to corner without the linework crowding itself.
