Heritage Field Runway Diagram Print

Heritage Field (PTW) is a one runway field, and the print says so plainly: runway 10/28, 3,371 feet long and 75 feet wide, asphalt, laid across the sheet as a single dark strip. The end numbers sit where they belong, 10 at the left tip, 28 at the right. The strip is tipped a few degrees off horizontal, which keeps it from reading as a ruled line and gives the whole page a direction to travel.

Around the runway, the taxiway system is rendered in a lighter grey: a long parallel run above the pavement, short connectors dropping down to it, and a loop at the right hand end that wraps a cluster of small blocks. Apron and building shapes gather toward the upper middle, with a second group set low and to the right. That leaves a lot of quiet paper on all four sides, so the strip stays the first thing you read from across the room. Below the drawing, PTW sits in heavy type over the city line, the coordinates, and the elevation, 308 feet.

The field is a public use airport, privately owned by Limerick Aviation LP. It was known as Pottstown Limerick Airport until it was sold in 2009 by the Exelon Generation Company, and it goes by Heritage Field on the local UNICOM. The national airport plan for 2011 through 2015 categorized it as a general aviation reliever airport.
