The field itself

This is Prescott's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Prescott Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

Prescott Regional Airport works three runways, and this print plots all three to scale from published field information. Runway 3R/21L is the long one at 7,619 feet by 150 feet, with a short parallel beside it, 3L/21R, at 4,395 feet by only 60 feet. The third, 12/30, cuts across the long runway on its own heading at 4,408 feet by 75 feet. All three are asphalt. The field sits at 5,045 feet of elevation, high ground for a runway diagram, and the magnetic variation of 13E is noted small in the corner the way a chart carries it.

It is a busier field than the size suggests. In the year ending July 31, 2022, Love Field logged 310,870 aircraft operations, an average of 851 a day, and most of that is training flying from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with more from operators including Guidance Aviation and North-Aire. The airport is eight miles north of Prescott, in Yavapai County, Arizona, on 760 acres owned by the city. A new passenger terminal opened in March 2021, and United Express has flown from here to Denver and Los Angeles since August 29, 2018.

The name on the field belongs to Ernest A. Love, a first lieutenant in the Army Air Service who was raised in Prescott, graduated from Prescott High School and studied mechanical engineering at Stanford. He was shot down near Verdun on 16 September 1918 and died of his wounds a few days later as a prisoner of war. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. None of that history is in the drawing. What is in it is the shape: three runways at their published lengths and widths, the designators, and the open ground between them, composed from published airport information and available field depictions and set on a ground tone you choose. It holds as a clean graphic mark from across a room and rewards a closer look, which makes it a pointed gift for anyone who earned a rating at PRC.

Prescott (PRC) print, common questions

How many runways does Prescott Regional Airport have?

Three, all asphalt. Runway 3R/21L at 7,619 feet by 150 feet, 12/30 at 4,408 by 75, and the narrow parallel 3L/21R at 4,395 by 60. All three are drawn to scale in the print.

How long is the longest runway at PRC?

7,619 feet. That is runway 3R/21L, 150 feet wide, the long line that anchors the layout.

What is the field elevation at PRC?

5,045 feet above sea level, one of the higher fields in the range, printed small in the corner of the diagram alongside the 13E magnetic variation.

Who was Ernest A. Love?

A first lieutenant in the United States Army Air Service, raised in Prescott, who was shot down near Verdun in September 1918 and died of his wounds as a prisoner of war. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, and the airport carries his name.

Where is PRC, and why is it so busy?

Eight miles north of Prescott in Yavapai County, Arizona. Most of its traffic is flight training, largely from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which is why a field this size logged 310,870 aircraft operations in the year ending July 2022.

How does the PRC print relate to the airport's layout?

Published airport information and available field depictions guide the PRC composition, including the runway designators and relative geometry. It is original wall art, so fine details may be simplified or omitted.
