The field itself

This is Shreveport's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Shreveport Downtown Airport Runway Diagram Print

DTN is a two runway field, and on this print the two strips cross near the center of the sheet in a wide X. Runway 14/32 is the longer one at 5017 feet by 100 feet, falling from the upper left corner toward the lower right. Runway 5/23 runs 4198 feet by 75 feet and climbs the opposite way, lower left to upper right, so the two meet at a generous angle rather than clipping each other at the edge. Both are asphalt. Field elevation is 180 feet.

Pale grey carries the supporting detail: taxiway loops wrapping each runway end, a broad ramp with a curved row of small hangars along the west side, more hangar rows down the south, and a tight cluster of buildings across the top of the frame. Against that soft background the black runway bars do the work, and the numerals 14, 5, 23 and 32 sit in small reversed blocks at the four ends. It reads as a graphic mark first and an airport diagram second, which is why a crossed field like this hangs well in a hallway or above a desk.

Shreveport Downtown Airport is a public use airport in the Caddo Parish portion of Shreveport, Louisiana, closer to downtown Shreveport than the larger Shreveport Regional Airport, and it is owned by the Shreveport Airport Authority. It covers 600 acres. The print is composed from published airport information, sized for standard frames, and finished in the colorway you choose. Hang it on its own or set it next to a neighbor from the same corner of the map, such as Longview or Monroe, for pilots and locals who have flown the region.

Shreveport (DTN) print, common questions

How many runways does DTN have, and how long are they?

Two. Runway 14/32 is 5017 feet long and 100 feet wide, and runway 5/23 is 4198 feet long and 75 feet wide. Both surfaces are asphalt, and both appear on the print.

Where is Shreveport Downtown Airport?

In Shreveport, Louisiana, at roughly 32.5408 degrees north and 93.7438 degrees west. Field elevation is 180 feet, and that figure is printed under the city line.

What does DTN stand for?

DTN is the airport identifier for Shreveport Downtown Airport. It is the code you see on flight plans and charts, and it is set in large type at the bottom of the print.

How accurate is the layout on this print?

The runway and taxiway geometry is plotted from published airport data for the field, so the crossing angle and relative lengths of 14/32 and 5/23 hold. This is a designed print, not a navigation chart, and fine details may be simplified or omitted. Markings, lighting and signage are examples of what gets left out.

What sizes are available?

Several standard frame friendly sizes, each printed to order in the colorway you choose. Larger sizes hold the hangar rows and taxiway loops more clearly, while smaller ones lean on the crossed runways as a graphic.

Does this make a good gift?

Yes, particularly for someone who trained, based an aircraft or logged hours at Shreveport Downtown. The identifier and coordinates make it personal without needing an explanation, and it ships free within the US.
