Barksdale AFB Runway Diagram Print

Barksdale AFB (BAD) works off a single runway, and the print hands that one line the whole sheet. Runway 15/33 measures 11,758 ft long and 299 ft wide, and in the artwork it runs corner to corner as one long diagonal, the 15 numerals at the upper left, the 33 at the lower right. Alongside it to the west lies a pale apron so large it almost reads as a second strip, notched with hangar blocks and parking stands down its whole length. A taxiway loop closes the east side. It was established in 1932 as Barksdale Field, named for World War I aviator and test pilot Lieutenant Eugene Hoy Barksdale. The land came from 800 property owners in Bossier Parish, acquired by the City of Shreveport on a voter approved municipal bond and then donated to the federal government.
