The field itself

This is Beverly's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Beverly Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

Beverly Regional works two paved runways, and in this print they cross well off center, near the lower right, in a narrow X. Runway 16/34 is the longer of the pair at 5,001 by 100 feet, falling from the top left corner toward the bottom right. Runway 9/27 measures 4,755 by 100 feet and runs in from the lower left at a shallower angle. That single crossing point does most of the compositional work, leaving a wide field of quiet paper around two black diagonals.

The field is city owned and public use, spread across Beverly, Danvers and Wenham in Essex County. It was built in 1928 on the farm of Adna and Addie Swift, and the Navy operated it during World War II as Naval Auxiliary Air Facility Beverly before ownership returned to the City of Beverly in 1950. The print carries none of that as ornament. It is the same 107 foot field, reduced to the geometry a pilot actually flies.

On a wall the drawing reads as graphic shape first: two dark bars, taxiways and apron edges in a lighter tone, ramp buildings clustered on the east side of the intersection. The runway centerlines and taxiway outlines are plotted from published airport information, and the identifier, coordinates and the 107 foot elevation sit quietly in the lower corner. It is a small, honest field rather than a sprawling one, which is why the layout holds up at size. Hang it alone, or beside a Boston print if you know that stretch of coastline from the air.

Beverly (BVY) print, common questions

How many runways does Beverly Regional have?

Two. Runway 16/34 is 5,001 by 100 feet and runway 9/27 is 4,755 by 100 feet, both asphalt. In the print they meet at a single crossing toward the lower right.

What is the longest runway at BVY?

Runway 16/34, at 5,001 feet long and 100 feet wide. It is the steeper of the two diagonals in the print, running from the upper left down to the lower right.

Where is BVY and what does the code stand for?

BVY is the identifier for Beverly Regional in Beverly, Massachusetts, on the north shore of Essex County. The field sits at 107 feet above sea level, a number printed under the coordinates in the corner block.

How accurate is the diagram?

The runway layout, dimensions and orientations follow published airport information for the field, so the crossing angle and the relative runway lengths read the way they are documented. This is a design print, not a navigation chart, and fine details may be simplified or omitted. Signage, markings and lighting are examples of what gets left out.

What sizes are available?

Several standard wall sizes, printed to order. The layout is composed to stay legible at the smaller sizes, and the corner block scales with it, whatever colorway you choose.

Does it work as a gift for a pilot?

Yes, particularly for anyone who trained, based an aircraft or logged pattern work at Beverly. The two crossing runways are recognizable at a glance to people who know the field, and the identifier reads clearly from across a room.
