Napa County Airport Runway Diagram Print

Napa County Airport (APC) reads as a narrow wedge on the wall. Runway 1L/19R runs nearly the full height of the sheet, the short 1R/19L parallel sits just to its east, and runway 6/24 angles in from the lower left to meet the long runway near its southern end. The field began as a military strip. It was built by the United States Army Air Forces in the early 1940s as Napa Flight Strip, an emergency landing airfield for aircraft on training flights, then expanded later in the war and renamed Napa Army Airfield. After World War II the property was deeded to Napa County for civil use. In 1947 Southwest Airways worked the airport with Douglas DC-3 flights on a routing that ran San Francisco, then Oakland, then Napa, then Sacramento and points north. The parallel pair was repaved and renumbered to 19R/L and 1R/L, which is why the diagram carries 1 and 19.
