The field itself

This is State College's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

State College Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

UNV is a single runway field, and the sheet is built around that one strip: runway 06/24 running corner to corner as a dark diagonal, the 06 threshold low on the left and the 24 threshold high on the right. The pavement measures 6,701 feet by 150 feet, asphalt, sitting at a field elevation of 1,231 feet, and the diagonal is drawn to scale from published airport information. Nothing competes with it. That is the whole appeal of a one runway print: a long, confident line across a lot of quiet paper.

The strip earned its proportions in stages. The current runway was laid parallel to the older runway 6 across 1973 and 1974, and in 1997 it was lengthened to the 6,701 feet you see here. Runway 24 carries the instrument landing system and does the primary landing and departing work, while runway 6 serves as the visual end. A control tower went operational in 2011. The field was called University Park until it was renamed State College Regional in 2023, which is why longtime pilots and new arrivals often use two different names for the same diagonal.

The built side of the field sits entirely northwest of the pavement, and that asymmetry is what gives the composition its balance: taxiway loops running the length of the runway, the apron and terminal footprints packed near the middle, and a tight rank of hangar bays angled off past the 24 end, all rendered in soft grey against the ink of the runway. The airport logged 148,196 enplanements in 2025, sixth busiest in Pennsylvania behind larger operations at Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and three others, which is a lot of movement funneled through one line of asphalt.

On a wall the diagonal does the work. Hang it in a hallway or above a desk and the runway sets the angle for the room, with the grey taxiway structure reading as texture rather than clutter. It is an easy gift for a Penn State flyer, a returning student pilot, or anyone whose trips home start at this field.

State College (UNV) print, common questions

How many runways does State College Regional have, and how long are they?

One. Runway 06/24 is 6,701 feet long and 150 feet wide with an asphalt surface, and it is the single strip drawn on this print.

What does the code UNV mean?

UNV is the identifier for State College Regional Airport in State College, Pennsylvania. It is a holdover from the field's former name, University Park Airport, which it carried until it was renamed in 2023. The code shown in the artwork is UNV.

Where is the airport and how high is it?

It sits in central Pennsylvania near State College at roughly 40.85 degrees north, 77.85 degrees west, with a field elevation of 1,231 feet. The coordinates and elevation are printed in the caption block.

How closely does the print follow the published layout?

The runway, taxiways, apron and building footprints are plotted from published airport information, so the relative geometry and the 06 and 24 threshold labels follow the published arrangement. It is still a print rather than a navigation chart: fine details such as markings, lighting, signage and small service structures may be simplified or omitted for legibility at wall size.

What sizes are available?

Several standard portrait sizes are offered, in the colorway you choose. A single runway field like this one holds up well at larger sizes, since the long 06/24 diagonal keeps its shape from across a room.

Is this a good gift for someone connected to State College?

Yes. It reads as a clean piece of design first and a specific place second, which makes it work for graduates, frequent flyers on the Philadelphia and Chicago runs, and pilots based at the field. Each print is made to order and ships free within the US.
