The paper is acid-free and archival-grade, with a smooth matte surface and the high color gamut and black density that let a dark ground and fine linework keep their depth. Supplied unframed, with no added white margin, ready for your own frame.
Framed Fine Art Print: the same cotton fine art paper in a 1.25 inch solid wood frame. A white, acid-free, 4-ply mat with a 45-degree bevel and optical-grade, shatter-resistant clear acrylic (safer to ship than glass) are included. The print is mounted to foam core for a flat presentation, with a kraft paper dust cover and installed hanging wire on the back.
Glossy Metal Print: the image is transferred by dye sublimation into polymer-coated aluminum with a glossy white base. The 1.14 mm panel has a scratch- and water-resistant surface, with a hidden inset mount that positions it about 3/4 inch off the wall. Display indoors, away from direct sunlight.

Portland International Airport Runway Diagram Print
Portland International reads as two long parallel runways set on a diagonal, with one shorter strip cutting across the lower of the pair. 10R/28L is the long one at 11,000 by 150 feet on grooved concrete. 10L/28R runs 9,825 by 150 feet on asphalt, and 03/21 measures 6,000 by 150 feet. On the sheet the two parallels carry almost the full width of the composition while 03/21 climbs from the lower left, crosses the southern runway, and stops before it reaches the northern one, so the crossing sits on one side of the field only. Field elevation is 31 feet.
The airport opened in 1940 as Portland-Columbia Airport, on low ground beside the Columbia River that crews had to cover with sand and ring with dikes before it would drain. The first field carried runways arranged like an asterisk. All of them except the northeast-southwest strip, today's 03/21, were later abandoned and turned into taxiways, and 03/21 was kept and extended as a crosswind runway. That is why the print shows one lone angled strip against two parallels instead of a star. The south runway was extended in 1974, and a second east-west runway built to the north left the terminal sitting midfield, which is the grey mass wedged between the two dark strips.
The field sits inside Portland's city limits just south of the Columbia River and northeast of downtown. By 1974 the Seattle route was served by seven airlines. Locals have been reading this geometry as decoration for a while: the terminal carpet installed in 1987 was designed to stylize the criss-crossing runways, and when a new pattern replaced it beginning in 2014, residents made products celebrating the old design as a local icon. On a wall the layout works the same way, a shallow angled crossing pinned to the left of the sheet, taxiways and building footprints held in a lighter tone so the runways stay dominant in the colorway you choose.
