Materials

Fine Art Print: pigment giclée printing on heavyweight 330 gsm (17 mil), 100% cotton Hot Press paper, on regularly calibrated giclée printers. The paper is acid-free and archival-grade, with a smooth matte surface and the high color gamut and black density that let a dark ground and fine linework keep their depth. Supplied unframed, with no added white margin, ready for your own frame.

Dimensions

Fine Art Print: 8 x 10, 16 x 20, and 24 x 30 inches.

Made like something you keep.

The field itself

This is Laredo's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Laredo International Airport Runway Diagram Print

Laredo International runs three concrete runways, and the print is built on the pair that dominates the field: 18R/36L at 8,743 by 150 feet and 18L/36R at 8,236 by 150 feet, set close together and running very nearly north to south. The third, 14/32 at 5,927 by 150 feet, cuts across both of them on a long northwest to southeast diagonal, meeting the longer strip near its midpoint and the eastern one well down toward its south end, so the composition reads as two tall bars with a slash laid over them. Field elevation is 508 feet above sea level and magnetic variation is 5E.

The field spent its first decades in uniform. It served the Army Air Forces during World War II as Laredo Army Airfield, then the Air Force as Laredo Air Force Base through the Cold War, a pilot training base flying the T-33 Shooting Star and later the T-37 Tweet and T-38 Talon. That military presence ended in December 1973, in the defense cutback that followed the Vietnam War. Commercial service arrived in the summer of 1975, when Texas International Airlines, formerly Trans-Texas Airways, moved over from the old Laredo Municipal Airport and traded Convair 600 propliners for DC-9 jets. The plan on this print carries that inheritance: a wide field with room between the strips, rather than one runway tucked beside a terminal.

The airport covers 1,796 acres three miles northeast of downtown Laredo, in Webb County, and the whole layout sits inside the frame with margin around it. As of 2026 the published passenger schedule listed Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas, and freight has long been part of the picture here: in 2012 the field handled 460,000,612 pounds of cargo. In November 2010 one of Boeing's 787 flight test aircraft made an emergency landing at Laredo after a fire broke out in an electrical panel.

On the wall the layout is left to speak plainly. Runway designators, lengths and widths follow the published figures, while taxiways, apron edges and the row of buildings down the west side are reduced to flat geometry over the ground tone you choose. This is original wall art composed from published airport information and available field depictions, not a navigation document, printed to order at a size that reads from across a room and rewards standing close.

Laredo (LRD) print, common questions

How many runways does Laredo International Airport have?

Three, all concrete. Runway 18R/36L is 8,743 by 150 feet, 18L/36R is 8,236 by 150 feet, and 14/32 is 5,927 by 150 feet. The two long ones run close and nearly parallel on the print, with the third crossing them both.

What is the longest runway at LRD, and how high is the field?

The longest is 18R/36L at 8,743 feet. Field elevation is 508 feet above sea level, and that figure is set in the margin of the print.

What does LRD stand for and where is the airport?

LRD is the IATA code for Laredo International Airport, three miles northeast of downtown Laredo in Webb County, Texas, at roughly 27.54 north, 99.46 west.

Was this airport a military base?

Yes. It was Laredo Army Airfield for the Army Air Forces in World War II and Laredo Air Force Base during the Cold War, a pilot training station for the T-33 and later the T-37 and T-38. The military presence ended in December 1973.

Is the diagram accurate to the real airport?

Runway designators, lengths, widths and the angles between the three runways come from published airport information for the field. It is original wall art, not a chart: fine details may be simplified or omitted, including minor taxiway markings, signage and small structures, and it is not for navigation.

What sizes are available, and does it work as a gift?

Each print is made to order in several sizes and finishes, on the ground tone you pick at checkout. It reads well for anyone with a link to the Webb County field, from freight crews to pilots who trained here.
