Supplied unframed, with no added white margin, ready for your own frame.
Framed Fine Art Print: the same cotton fine art paper in a 1.25 inch solid wood frame. A white, acid-free, 4-ply mat with a 45-degree bevel and optical-grade, shatter-resistant clear acrylic (safer to ship than glass) are included. The print is mounted to foam core for a flat presentation, with a kraft paper dust cover and installed hanging wire on the back.
Glossy Metal Print: the image is transferred by dye sublimation into polymer-coated aluminum with a glossy white base. The 1.14 mm panel has a scratch- and water-resistant surface, with a hidden inset mount that positions it about 3/4 inch off the wall. Display indoors, away from direct sunlight.

North Platte Regional/Lee Bird Field Runway Diagram Print
North Platte Regional Airport, Lee Bird Field, works two runways that do not cross. Runway 12/30 is 8,001 by 150 feet of concrete, and it gives the print its spine: one long diagonal falling from the northwest corner of the field toward the southeast. Runway 17/35 is 4,436 by 100 feet of concrete, a shorter upright bar set well to the west of that diagonal, and the two lines come close at their north ends without meeting. A taxiway makes the connection instead, so the layout reads as an open angle rather than an X. Field elevation is 2,777 feet and magnetic variation is 6E, which is why the plotted headings sit a few degrees off true north.
The field began in 1921 as North Platte Field, built with private funds on the east side of the North Platte River near the river bridge south of U.S. Highway 30, where the first hangar and terminal buildings went up. That original ground was the site of the first night airmail flight on February 22, 1921. The perimeter was lit with burning fuel barrels, the aircraft landed at 7:48 p.m., and it left for Omaha at 10:44 p.m. once repairs to the de Havilland 4 were finished.
The City of North Platte bought the airfield in 1929 and leased it to the Boeing Transport Company, one of the original parts of United Airlines. More construction followed in 1941, when the site became a B-17 training command, and the same year the field was renamed for Lee Bird, the son of a North Platte family who was killed in 1918 while training as a pilot for World War I. An airport authority took over operation in July 1963, and the name became North Platte Regional Airport Lee Bird Field in June 1992.
