Fine Art Print: 8 x 10, 16 x 20, and 24 x 30 inches.

Made like something you keep.

The field itself

This is Indianapolis's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Indianapolis International Airport Runway Diagram Print

Indianapolis International has three runways, and all three are on this sheet: 05L/23R at 11,200 by 150 feet of grooved concrete, 05R/23L at 10,000 by 150 feet in the same surface, and asphalt 14/32 at 7,278 by 150 feet. The two parallels run the same southwest to northeast diagonal, set well apart, and they carry the composition. The crosswind strip leans the opposite way past their northeast ends, close enough to read as a counterweight without ever touching either parallel.

The gap between the parallels is what makes the print work. It is filled edge to edge with taxiway loops, aprons and building blocks in soft gray, including the midfield passenger terminal that opened in 2008 between the two parallel runways. Only the runway surfaces are inked solid, so the eye catches three dark bars first, then drops into the gray and starts tracing the routes between them. The identifier block sits bottom right with the coordinates and the field elevation, 796 feet.

The field opened in 1931 as Indianapolis Municipal Airport, was renamed Weir Cook Municipal in 1944 for Col. Harvey Weir Cook, and became Indianapolis International Airport in 1976. Runway 14/32 is the only original runway still remaining, and it is stubby on the page for a documented reason: it was shortened from 7,604 feet around 2006 because the south end was not visible from the new control tower. FedEx Express opened a hub at the airport in 1988. The property covers 7,700 acres, and that scale is visible here, with pavement running far past the runway edges in every direction.

On its own the print reads as a clean diagonal graphic that suits a hallway or an office wall in the colorway you choose. In a group, the smaller Indiana layouts at Bloomington and Terre Haute make good companions, since their thin two and three strip fields set off how much ground Indianapolis actually holds.

Indianapolis (IND) print, common questions

How many runways does IND have, and how long are they?

Three. 05L/23R is 11,200 feet by 150 feet of grooved concrete, 05R/23L is 10,000 feet by 150 feet of grooved concrete, and 14/32 is 7,278 feet by 150 feet of asphalt. Two of them are parallel and the third is a crosswind runway.

What is the longest runway at Indianapolis International?

05L/23R at 11,200 feet, the longer of the two parallel runways. It is the top left bar on the print, running southwest to northeast.

What does IND stand for and where is the airport?

IND is the identifier for Indianapolis International Airport, and it is the code printed under the diagram. The field sits about seven miles southwest of Downtown Indianapolis in Marion County, Indiana, at 39.7173 degrees N, 86.2946 degrees W, with a field elevation of 796 feet.

How accurate is the diagram?

The runways, their designators and their relative positions are plotted from published airport information for cycle 2608, effective in July 2026. It is a wall print rather than a navigation document, so fine details may be simplified or omitted: individual markings, lighting, signage and smaller pavement edges are reduced for legibility at print scale.

What sizes are available?

The same Indianapolis layout is composed for several portrait print sizes, and the larger formats hold more of the taxiway detail between the parallel runways. The colorway you choose sets both the background tone and the ink of the runway bars. Each one is made to order.

Is this a good gift for someone connected to Indianapolis?

It reads well for anyone who flies through IND regularly, worked on the field, or grew up under the approach to 05L or 05R. The runway designators are legible at the ends of each bar, so the person receiving it can find the strip they know.
