Indianapolis Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

Indianapolis Regional puts two runways on the page that meet at a corner instead of crossing in the middle. Runway 7/25 is the long one, 6,005 by 100 feet of asphalt, and it climbs across the sheet from the lower left to the upper right. Runway 16/34 is shorter and narrower, 3,902 by 75 feet of concrete, and it drops almost straight down the right side of the print until its 34 end arrives at the same corner where 25 finishes. The two strips never intersect. They converge, and the taxiways close the gap between them with a short apron of connectors, which is what gives the composition its wide, open, off-center geometry.

The field sits in Hancock County, Indiana, a public use airport owned by the Indianapolis Airport Authority and about 12 nautical miles east of downtown Indianapolis, with Greenfield to the southeast and McCordsville to the northeast. It covers 1,805 acres at an elevation of 862 feet above sea level, and it carried the name Mount Comfort Airport until 2011. The national plan of integrated airport systems for 2017 through 2021 categorized it as a general aviation reliever for Indianapolis International Airport, which is the kind of working, unglamorous role that tends to produce a diagram like this one: lots of pavement, no terminal drama.
