Description

A runway diagram map print of Dawson Community Airport (GDV), made from the airport's own layout for the place it holds in your life. Choose your colorway and your format: a fine art giclée print on cotton paper, a framed fine art print, a glossy metal print or a digital download.

Fine Art Print: 8 x 10, 16 x 20, and 24 x 30 inches.

Made like something you keep.

The field itself

This is Glendive's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Dawson Community Airport Runway Diagram Print

Two runways cross near the upper left of this print, and the longer one sets the diagonal for everything else on the sheet. Runway 12/30 measures 5,704 by 100 feet and runs corner to corner, with the 12 threshold at the top left and 30 dropping away toward the bottom right. The shorter 02/20, at 3,002 by 60 feet, climbs the other way from 2 in the lower left to 20 at the top, and the two meet well short of midfield. That off center crossing is what gives the composition its tilt: a long stroke, a short stroke, and a lot of open paper. Both runways are asphalt, and the field sits at 2,458 feet of elevation.

Dawson Community Airport is five miles northwest of Glendive, in Dawson County, and the current field opened around 1970, replacing the older airport on the east side of the river. Frontier Airlines had begun flights to that older field in 1954, and its Twin Otters stopped flying out of the new airport in 1980. Service returned when Great Lakes Airlines took over an Essential Air Service contract and flights began in 2009. The airport recorded 427 passenger boardings in 2010.

On a wall, the small stuff carries the piece. Between the runways, a gray taxiway loop, an apron and two rows of hangars gather in one tight cluster, which keeps the weight low and left while the 30 end runs off toward the opposite corner. It is a quiet layout, and it hangs well next to other northern plains fields: Williston and Dickinson both sit east across the North Dakota line, drawn to the same conventions in the same series. Whichever colorway you choose, the identifier, the coordinates and the elevation stay in the lower corner, so the geometry does the talking.

Glendive (GDV) print, common questions

How many runways does GDV have?

Two, and both are drawn on the print. Runway 12/30 is 5,704 by 100 feet, runway 02/20 is 3,002 by 60 feet, and both surfaces are asphalt.

Where is Dawson Community Airport?

Five miles northwest of Glendive, in Dawson County, Montana. The field elevation is 2,458 feet, and the coordinates are printed under the identifier.

What does GDV mean?

GDV is the three letter identifier for Dawson Community Airport at Glendive. It is the shorthand pilots and schedules use, and it is the code set in large type on the print.

How closely does the print follow the published layout?

The runways, taxiways, apron and building footprints are plotted from published runway data for a 2026 information cycle, so lengths and crossing angles follow that source. It is still a print, not a chart: fine details are simplified or omitted, markings and lighting are left off, and nothing here is for navigation.

What sizes are available?

The layout is composed to hold up across the standard print sizes, from a desk sized print to a large statement piece, and each one ships in the colorway you choose. Every size uses the same line weights scaled to fit, so the 12/30 diagonal stays readable across the room.

Is this a good gift for a Glendive pilot?

It works well for anyone with a connection to the field: student pilots who learned on 12/30, families who flew in and out of Glendive, or a hangar wall that needs something other than a calendar. Prints are made to order, and orders containing only paper prints ship flat.
