Dickinson/Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport works two runways, and the print is built on the way they cross. Runway 14/32 is the long one at 7,301 by 150 feet, drawn as a steep diagonal spine that falls from the upper left of the sheet to the lower right, with a parallel taxiway shadowing it along the east side and short connector stubs tying the two together. Runway 7/25, at 4,700 by 75 feet, runs shallower and nearly level across the frame and clips the long runway well down toward the 32 threshold, so the crossing sits low in the composition instead of at the middle. Field elevation is 2,592 feet above sea level and magnetic variation is 10E, which is why the plotted headings sit off true north.

The field is six miles south of Dickinson in Stark County, and it was Dickinson Municipal Airport before it took the name of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President, whose namesake national park lies in the same stretch of western North Dakota. Airline flying began here with Frontier DC-3s in 1959. Delta Connection served Minneapolis from this field until late 2015, with the last flight on November 30. The airport is owned by the Dickinson Airport Authority and draws from western North Dakota, eastern Montana and northwest South Dakota.

The two surfaces are not the same underfoot: 14/32 is concrete and 7/25 is asphalt, and in the early 2020s the long runway was rebuilt and extended with federal airport improvement funding. The whole property covers 626 acres, which is little enough that the layout fits the sheet without the linework crowding itself. Runway designators, lengths and widths follow the published figures, while the taxiways, apron edges and the block of buildings east of midfield are reduced to flat geometry over the ground tone you choose.
