Description

A runway diagram map print of Drake Field (FYV), made from the airport's own layout for the place it holds in your life. Choose your colorway and your format: a fine art giclée print on cotton paper, a framed fine art print, a glossy metal print or a digital download.

Your fine art print is made to order with pigment inks on heavyweight, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, a 330 gsm sheet with a high color gamut and deep black density. The acid-free, archival-grade paper has a smooth matte surface. Supplied unframed, ready for your own frame.

Fine Art Print: 8 x 10, 16 x 20, and 24 x 30 inches.

Made like something you keep.

The field itself

This is Fayetteville's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Drake Field Runway Diagram Print

Drake Field is a one runway field, and the print is built entirely around that single strip. Runway 16/34 is 6,005 by 100 feet of asphalt, and in the image it stands as one dark bar running almost top to bottom of the sheet with a slight lean to the right. Nothing crosses it. Pale taxiway loops close around both ends and run alongside it, the threshold numbers read 16 at the top and 34 at the bottom, and a block of ramp and hangar shapes gathers off to one side near the middle. That is the whole composition: one confident line, plotted from published runway data, with the ground detail arranged around it.

The field sits three miles south of Fayetteville in Washington County, Arkansas, at an elevation of 1,252 feet, and covers 631 acres. It was the commercial airport for northwest Arkansas until Northwest Arkansas National Airport opened in Highfill in 1998. In 1974 Scheduled Skyways, a commuter carrier based in Fayetteville, was flying nonstop from here to Little Rock and Tulsa. In 2020 the airport recorded 24,907 aircraft operations, the large majority of them general aviation, which is the quieter life a field settles into once the airline schedules move on.

On a wall, a single runway does something a busy multi runway field cannot. There is one axis, one direction to follow, and the eye rides it end to end. The near vertical set of the strip makes this a print that hangs well in a narrow space: a stairwell, a hallway, the gap between two windows. Composed at print resolution, it stays crisp at larger sizes, and the colorway you choose sets whether it reads quiet or graphic against your wall.

Fayetteville (FYV) print, common questions

How many runways does Drake Field have?

One. Runway 16/34 is the only runway, and the print draws it as a single strip with taxiways looping around it.

How long is the runway at FYV?

Runway 16/34 is 6,005 by 100 feet, with an asphalt surface.

What does the code FYV stand for?

FYV is the identifier for Drake Field, the airport three miles south of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Its elevation is 1,252 feet.

Is the diagram accurate to the published layout?

The runway, taxiways and ramp areas are plotted from published airport information for the current charting cycle, so the geometry and the runway designators follow the published layout. It is a print, not a navigation chart: fine details may be simplified or omitted, and it should never be used for flying.

What sizes are available?

The print comes in a range of standard wall sizes, and because the artwork is a single strong vertical line it holds up in both small and large formats. Choose the colorway that suits the room, since the layout itself is identical across all of them.

Does this work as a gift?

Yes, especially for someone who learned to fly at Drake Field, keeps an aircraft in northwest Arkansas, or has a Fayetteville connection. It is made to order and ships free within the US.
