Fort Wayne International Airport Runway Diagram Print

Fort Wayne International draws as a hard X. Runway 05/23 runs 11,981 feet from the lower left of the sheet up to the northeast, and Runway 14/32 comes down across it from the upper left at 8,002 feet, the same 150 feet wide. The two meet high in the frame, well above center, so the weight of the composition sits toward the top and the long southwest tail of 05/23 carries the eye back down into open paper.

The field lies eight miles southwest of Fort Wayne, in Allen County, at an elevation of 815 feet. It was built as an Army Air Corps base just before World War II and named for Paul Frank Baer, a Fort Wayne native and World War I flying ace. In 1991 Baer Field was renamed Fort Wayne International.
