Materials

Fine Art Print: pigment giclée printing on heavyweight 330 gsm (17 mil), 100% cotton Hot Press paper, on regularly calibrated giclée printers. The paper is acid-free and archival-grade, with a smooth matte surface and the high color gamut and black density that let a dark ground and fine linework keep their depth. Supplied unframed, with no added white margin, ready for your own frame.

Dimensions

Fine Art Print: 8 x 10, 16 x 20, and 24 x 30 inches.

Made like something you keep.

The field itself

This is Chino's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Chino Airport Runway Diagram Print

Chino Airport puts three runways in one frame: two parallel strips running east and west, with 3/21 slicing across both on the diagonal. The lower parallel, 8R/26L, is the long one at 7,000 by 150 feet, and it reaches farther east than anything else on the sheet. Stacked above it, 8L/26R runs 4,858 by 150 feet and stops well short of its neighbor. The diagonal measures 4,919 by 150 feet. All three are asphalt, all three are the same width, and the field sits at 650 feet.

The history is worth knowing. Cal-Aero Academy was an independent flying school at Chino Airport when World War II started, and the Army Air Forces contracted the school to give Army cadets their primary and basic training on Stearmans and BT-13s. In 1945, as the training programs wound down, hundreds of surplus combat aircraft were flown in for disposal, and most ended in portable smelters that melted them into aluminum ingots. During the mid-1960s the field stood in for the fictional Archbury Army Air Field in the TV series 12 O'Clock High. A national plan of integrated airport systems for 2007 classified it as a reliever airport.

As art, the pull is the crossing. The two parallels give you a calm horizontal rhythm, then the diagonal cuts through both just left of center and refuses to line up with either. Apron and hangar blocks sit in a lighter tone up in the top left corner, dense and blocky, which keeps the runways the loudest marks in the composition. The identifier, the coordinates and the 650 foot elevation sit quietly in the lower right. It hangs well on its own, and it hangs even better next to another Southern California field: Riverside or Long Beach, same basin, completely different geometry. Good for a pilot who trained here, or anyone who has spent a Saturday watching warbirds work the pattern.

Chino (CNO) print, common questions

How many runways does Chino Airport have, and how long are they?

Three. 8R/26L is the longest at 7,000 by 150 feet, 3/21 measures 4,919 by 150 feet, and 8L/26R measures 4,858 by 150 feet. All three surfaces are asphalt, and all three are drawn in the print.

How high is the field, and where is it?

Field elevation is 650 feet. Chino Airport is a county owned field about three miles southeast of Chino, in San Bernardino County, California, at roughly 33.97 N, 117.64 W.

What does CNO stand for?

CNO is the identifier assigned to Chino Airport, and it is the code printed large at the bottom of the print with the city, state, coordinates and elevation set underneath it.

How closely does the print follow the published layout?

It is plotted from published airport information for the July 2026 charting cycle, so runway designators, lengths relative to each other and the angle of the diagonal all follow that data. It is a piece of wall art, not a navigation document: taxiway detail, markings and smaller pavement are simplified, and some fine features are left out so the runways read cleanly from across a room.

What sizes and finishes are available?

Several standard portrait sizes, printed to order, as a Fine Art Print, Framed Fine Art Print or Glossy Metal Print (Digital Download available separately). The background tone changes with the colorway you choose, and the runway geometry stays the same in every one.

Does this work as a gift?

Yes, especially for someone with a Chino connection: a student who did their first solo off 8R, a warbird restorer, a mechanic on the field, or a family that grew up hearing radials overhead. Made to order with free US shipping.
