Centennial Airport Runway Diagram Print

Centennial Airport works a pair of parallel north south runways plus one crosswind strip, and the diagram reads as two long verticals with a short diagonal hung off their east side. Runway 17L/35R is the long one at 10,001 by 100 feet. Runway 17R/35L sits just west of it, 7,001 by 75 feet, offset so that both of its ends stop well inside the main runway's, which gives the pair a stepped look rather than a matched one. Runway 10/28, 4,800 by 75 feet, starts just east of the main runway and angles down to the southeast, so it crosses neither parallel. All three are asphalt. Field elevation is 5,885 feet, better than a mile above sea level, and the magnetic variation is 8E.

The field opened on May 12, 1968 as Arapahoe County Airport and took its current name on July 13, 1984, a reference to Colorado joining the Union as the 38th state in 1876, the centennial year of the Declaration of Independence. A new control tower went up in 1985. The airport belongs to the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority and lies mostly in Dove Valley in Arapahoe County, 15 nautical miles southeast of downtown Denver, with part of the property crossing into Douglas County, so the city name in the margin is shorthand for a field that is really a county airport. In 2018 it recorded 337,947 aircraft operations, an average of 925 a day, 89 percent of them general aviation.

That traffic is what fills the middle of the print.
