The paper is acid-free and archival-grade, with a smooth matte surface and the high color gamut and black density that let a dark ground and fine linework keep their depth. Supplied unframed, with no added white margin, ready for your own frame.

Dimensions

Fine Art Print: 8 x 10, 16 x 20, and 24 x 30 inches.

Made like something you keep.

The field itself

This is Valparaiso/Destin-Fort Walton Beach's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Eglin AFB/Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport Runway Diagram Print

VPS prints as two heavy black strips that lean into each other and stop just short of meeting at the lower right. Runway 12/30 takes the long diagonal, entering at the upper left and running down across the sheet at 12,004 feet by 300 feet of asphalt and concrete. Runway 02/20 drops in from the top right, close to vertical, at 10,012 feet by 300 feet of asphalt. Threshold 30 and threshold 2 end up side by side with only a sliver of ground between them, so the layout reads as an open V rather than a crossing X. The 300 foot width is what makes it work at print scale: both runways hold as solid bars instead of thinning into hairlines.

The field sits inside Eglin Air Force Base, adjacent to Valparaiso and near Destin and Fort Walton Beach in Okaloosa County, Florida. The airport and the base cover 6,500 acres and share those two runways, which explains how far the gray reaches around the black on this sheet: aprons, a wide fan of taxiways on the right side, and small building blocks clustered along both flanks. Field elevation is 84 feet, so the geometry here is all horizontal, nothing terraced. The identifier traces back to the East Gate near Valparaiso, the way passengers reached the terminal on the base, and the airport carried the name Northwest Florida Regional Airport until 2015.

The Gulf Coast connections show up in its record. In 1977, a commuter carrier worked the field with propjet flights to New Orleans, Mobile, Montgomery and Panama City. In 2001, AirTran ended its flights into the airport after starting service to Pensacola. None of that is drawn on the print, of course. What you get is the shape itself: a long slanted bar, a steep one beside it, the gray structure weighted toward the right, and the lower half of the sheet left open above the VPS block with coordinates and elevation. In the colorway you choose, the runways stay the loudest thing on the wall.

Valparaiso/Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS) print, common questions

How many runways does VPS have, and how long are they?

Two. Runway 12/30 is 12,004 feet long and 300 feet wide, surfaced in asphalt and concrete. Runway 02/20 is 10,012 feet long and 300 feet wide, surfaced in asphalt. Both appear on the print, converging near the lower right without crossing.

Where is the airport, and how high is the field?

It sits at about 30.4832 N, 86.5260 W, inside Eglin Air Force Base, adjacent to Valparaiso and near Destin and Fort Walton Beach in Okaloosa County, Florida. Field elevation is 84 feet, printed in the corner block.

Why is the code VPS?

It comes from Valparaiso. Passengers entered the base through the East Gate near Valparaiso to reach the terminal, and the airport code followed from that.

How accurate is the layout on the print?

The runways, taxiways and apron outlines are plotted from published airport information, current to a 2026 data cycle, and the runway designators 12, 30, 02 and 20 are placed at their published ends. It is a print, not a chart: fine details may be simplified or omitted, and nothing on it should be used for navigation.

What sizes are available?

Several sizes and finishes, in the colorway you choose. A wider format suits this field, since the 12,004 foot diagonal is what carries the composition and it needs room to stretch.

Does this work as a gift?

It lands well with anyone who flies in and out of Destin or Fort Walton Beach, or who has served at Eglin. Each print is made to order, so nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for a buyer.
