The field itself

This is Hot Springs's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Memorial Field Runway Diagram Print

Memorial Field has two runways, and the print draws both of them crossing near the center of the sheet in a long, lopsided X. Runway 05/23 is the primary strip at 6,595 feet by 150 feet, running lower left to upper right. Runway 13/31 cuts the other way at 4,098 feet by 100 feet. Both are asphalt, and the field elevation is 540 feet.

The crossing is what makes this one work as artwork. Because the two runways are so different in length and width, the X is not symmetrical: one arm runs long and heavy across the full diagonal while the shorter arm ends soon after it clears the intersection. Taxiways and apron pavement are rendered in a lighter gray behind the runways, clustered along the north side of the field where the hangars and terminal structures sit, so the darker runway bars read first from across a room and the supporting geometry fills in when you step closer. The identifier HOT, the city line, the coordinates and the 540 foot elevation sit quietly in the lower corner.

Everything in the drawing comes from published airport information for Hot Springs, Arkansas, which is why the angles and the length ratio between the two runways look the way they do rather than being tidied up for balance. Depending on the colorway you choose, the same layout can read as a graphic mark or as a technical document. If you are building an Arkansas wall, this one sits naturally beside Little Rock or Mena.

Hot Springs (HOT) print, common questions

How many runways does Memorial Field have?

Two, and both appear on the print. Runway 05/23 and runway 13/31 cross each other, which is the X shape at the center of the artwork.

How long are the runways at HOT?

Runway 05/23 is 6,595 feet long and 150 feet wide, making it the longest at the field. Runway 13/31 is 4,098 feet long and 100 feet wide. Both surfaces are asphalt.

Where is HOT, and what is the field elevation?

Memorial Field is at Hot Springs, Arkansas, near 34.4780 degrees north and 93.0962 degrees west. The field elevation is 540 feet, and that figure is printed under the city line.

What does HOT mean on the print?

HOT is the three letter identifier for Memorial Field at Hot Springs. It is set large in the lower corner of the artwork, with the city, state, coordinates and elevation stacked beneath it.

How accurate is the layout?

The diagram follows published runway data for Memorial Field, including the crossing angle between 05/23 and 13/31 and the length difference between them. This is an airport map print made for a wall, not a navigation document, so fine details may be simplified or omitted. Pavement markings, lighting and small edge geometry are the usual examples.

What formats does this come in, and does it work as a gift?

It is available as a Fine Art Print, a Framed Fine Art Print, a Glossy Metal Print or a Digital Download. Physical pieces are made to order; the digital option is a file you receive. It reads well as a gift for a pilot, a student, a controller or anyone with a Hot Springs connection, since the field is named rather than left as a puzzle.
