The field itself

This is Hammond's own layout, the way its runways run and the taxiways thread between them, composed into a print you will want to look at every day. Not a stock template with a new name on it.

Museum-quality cotton paper

Heavyweight 330 gsm, 100% cotton Hot Press paper, acid-free and archival-grade. Its high color gamut and black density give the runways real depth, and pigment inks keep the fine detail crisp on a smooth matte surface.

Solid wood framing or glossy metal

Frame it in 1.25 inch solid wood, black, white or natural oak, with the white beveled mat, optical-grade clear acrylic and hanging wire included. Or choose glossy metal: dye sublimation into aluminum, floated about 3/4 inch off the wall on a hidden mount.

Hammond Northshore Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

Hammond Northshore Regional has two runways and they cross, which is the entire composition of this airport map print. Runway 13/31 runs diagonally from the upper left of the frame down to the lower right, 6,502 ft long and 100 ft wide. Runway 18/36 drops straight down the sheet, 5,001 ft long and 150 ft wide on concrete, meeting the diagonal high in the upper third rather than at the middle. That off center crossing is what makes the print work: a strict vertical, a long slash, and an X that sits where you do not expect it.

Around the two black strips, everything is deliberately quieter. Pale taxiway loops wrap the ends of both runways and run the length of the field, aprons pool along the eastern and western edges, and small blocks mark structures where the pavement widens. The elevation is 46 ft, printed under the HDC lettering with the coordinates, so the caption block carries the facts and the drawing carries the shape. Hung at size, the negative space in the lower half of the sheet does as much work as the runways do.

Hammond sits in southeastern Louisiana, which makes this one easy to pair. Set it next to New Orleans and you get a busy field against a spare one, or next to Baton Rouge for two inland Louisiana diagrams with very different geometry. On its own, in the colorway you choose, it reads as a clean graphic first and an airport diagram second.

Hammond (HDC) print, common questions

How many runways does Hammond Northshore Regional have?

Two, and both appear in the print. Runway 13/31 is the diagonal, and runway 18/36 is the vertical strip that crosses it in the upper portion of the field.

How long are the runways at HDC?

Runway 13/31 is the longer of the pair at 6,502 ft by 100 ft. Runway 18/36 measures 5,001 ft by 150 ft, making it the wider of the two.

Where is HDC and what is the elevation?

HDC is the identifier for Hammond Northshore Regional in Hammond, Louisiana. Field elevation is 46 ft, and the coordinates are printed with the identifier in the caption block.

How closely does the artwork follow the published layout?

Runway positions, lengths, relative widths and the taxiway and apron outlines are plotted from published airport information for this field. It is a composed diagram rather than a navigation chart, so fine details may be simplified or omitted. Surface markings, lighting and minor structures are the usual examples.

What formats and sizes does this come in?

Choose Fine Art Print, Framed Fine Art Print, Glossy Metal Print or Digital Download. Sizes run from desk scale up to statement pieces for a wall, and the crossing runway geometry at HDC holds up well when it goes large. Physical pieces are made to order; the digital option is a file.

Is this a good gift for a pilot who flies out of Hammond?

Yes, especially for someone who has worked both runways here. The layout is specific enough that a pilot recognizes the X at a glance, and the identifier and elevation give it the personal detail a generic aviation piece lacks.
