Cedar City Regional Airport Runway Diagram Print

Cedar City Regional Airport works two asphalt runways that cross, and the print is built on that crossing. Runway 02/20 is 8,653 by 150 feet and carries the composition as a long steep diagonal from the lower left to the upper right, while runway 08/26, 4,822 by 60 feet, is the thin near horizontal bar that cuts across it a little north of the midpoint. The two make a lopsided X rather than a tidy plus sign, with the 26 end finishing right at the edge of the apron and the 8 end running well out to the west. Western Airlines served it in the 1940s, Bonanza Air Lines took over with DC-3s in 1957 and 1958, and Bonanza later ran Fairchild F-27s on a run that strung together Phoenix, Prescott, Grand Canyon Airport, Page, Cedar City and Salt Lake City. Air West and its successor Hughes Airwest kept the F-27s going, at one point linking Cedar City with Las Vegas, and Hughes Airwest dropped the city in 1977. SkyWest Airlines flew the subsidized Essential Air Service route from 1972 until 2005, when the contract went to Air Midwest; Mesa moved to discontinue the flights in 2007 and SkyWest took the contract back. In the year ending December 31, 2022 the field logged 119,544 aircraft operations, 99 percent of them general aviation, with 106 aircraft based there.
