Lemoore NAS (Reeves Field) Runway Diagram Print

NLC is a two runway field, and both runways are enormous: 14L/32R at 13,502 feet and 14R/32L at 13,501 feet, each 200 feet wide and surfaced in concrete. That one foot of difference between them is the kind of detail this artwork keeps rather than smooths over. On the wall the pair reads as two long diagonals leaning from upper left toward lower right, dark bars set against a mostly open sheet.

Look closer and the strips are not side by side in the tidy way parallels usually are. They sit offset, staggered along their shared axis, so 14L starts high on the page while 14R begins much lower and runs off toward the bottom corner. Aircraft parking and maintenance hangars are aligned between the runways, and on the print that middle band of hangar rows, aprons and looping taxiways is the one dense passage in an otherwise sparse composition. Commissioned in 1961, the station was built from the ground up as a master jet base, and the geometry shows it: long, clean, uncluttered by anything older.

The base spans Kings County and Fresno County, and from the air it stands out against the farmlands of Central California because of its sheer scale. F/A-18E/F Super Hornets have operated here since 1999, joined by the F-35C Lightning II since 2017. The corner block carries the identifier, the city and state, the coordinates and the field elevation of 228 feet, which keeps the piece legible as a record as much as a graphic, whatever the colorway you choose.
